The annual J.D. Power 2023 U.S. Vehicle Dependability Study named Lexus number one among all brands based on a Problems per 100 vehicles (PP100) score of 133, beating out Genesis by 11 points. The Lexus RX is the most dependable model in the midsize premium SUV segment followed by the Lexus GX. That’s the eighth time Lexus achieved the highest ranking in vehicle dependability in 10 years, according to J.D. Power.
The study examines how 2020 model-year vehicles are currently performing in terms of quality, component replacement and appeal—including those vehicles with new technology—and helps automotive manufacturers design and build better vehicles to stand the test of time and promote higher resale value. A lower PP100 indicates higher performance.
In addition, Toyota Motor Corporation received the most model-level awards, six, of all automakers for the following vehicles (segment):
