OUR FAMILY, OUR HOME. GIVING BACK ONE SUMMER AT A TIME.

A lucky hand at poker.

A precious smile on the face of a new homeowner.

These are just a few of the moments captured this summer as Scanlon Lexus set out to promote kindness and generosity, like so many summers before.

Through Scanlon’s Spirit of Giving, we have continued the tradition of giving back to the community one year at a time. Our company has lent a helping hand to our extended family by donating to charities, participating in various programs, attending local events, and volunteering for non-profits.

This year was no different. In June, Scanlon Auto Group employees and staff were a part of a stirring dedication with the Habitat for Humanity, putting a new set of house keys into the hands of a local family. But once the team had hung up their hard hats, it was time for the cards to be dealt. Our volunteers attended a lively game of Texas Hold’Em–all in the name of charity, of course! After all, what is summer without sun, sand, and new memories with family and friends?

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY DEDICATION

OUR FAMILY, OUR HOME. GIVING BACK ONE SUMMER AT A TIME.

Scanlon Lexus has helped the Habitat of Humanity provide qualified low-income or at-risk families in Southwest Florida beautiful home options for the past several years. On June 11, 2021, our company stood alongside the non-profit to dedicate a house to local citizen, Jessenia, and her two lovely and adorable children! The incredible moment spread warmth through the hearts of our joyous employees and staff, and a smile from the face of Jay Scanlon as he presented the keys to family’s new home.

This marked the 34th house that Scanlon Auto Group sponsored for the Habitat of Humanity. Over the years, our company has not only provided monetary donations, but also time and labor. Strapping on tool belts and buckling hard hats, our volunteers have participated in the Habitat Build for several years in a row. They see this as an opportunity to not only give back to the community, but to get to know their fellow employees outside the workplace.

Habitat for Humanity said it takes about six months to build a new home from start to finish. They either build the home from scratch or rehabilitate them before selling to qualified low income or at-risk families in the area. To Scanlon, this has always been a way to create stronger communities all across the Southwest Florida region.

TEXAS HOLD’EM POKER TOURNAMENT

The chips were flying at the 9th Annual Texas Hold’Em Poker Tournament for the Boys & Girls Club of Lee County. Once again, Scanlon Auto Group was the premier sponsor of the event, with almost a dozen of our employees putting on their best poker faces, both participating in and donating to the event. Though their competition was tough! Over 120 players joined together under one roof for a night of exciting, albeit friendly competition.

Our company has been a staple and sponsor of the Texas Hold’Em Poker Tournament for years. It has been a cause near and dear to Scanlon’s heart, as all the proceeds from the event go towards the Boys & Girls Club of Lee County.

THE SPIRIT OF GIVING

Since 1980, the Scanlon Family has committed itself to Southwest Florida. Whether it’s building relationships with our employees, our customers, or our community, Scanlon has always believed this is what defines success.

We seek out local events that inspire strong connections with others, including those that focus on children’s health, education, and overall well-being. We also strive to keep our home clean and safe, and aim to support programs and organizations that protect the environment and our local wildlife. But, Scanlon also believes in a thriving Arts and Theater community and has added those organizations to our sponsorship list as well.

In addition to the Habitat for Humanity and the Boys & Girls Club of Lee County, Scanlon Automotive has been major sponsors of the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association, and the Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida, they are also major contributors to The United Way of Lee County, The Junior League of Fort Myers, ECHO Global Food & Farm Festival, Arts for ACT, The Harry Chapin Food Bank, SW Florida Regional Human Trafficking Coalition, and many other organizations that support the people and the Arts in our area.
