Lexus Dashboard Lights & Their Meanings

Your vehicle uses the Lexus warning lights to communicate with you as you travel through Punta Gorda. From basic warnings, such as the Seatbelt Reminder, to the crucial Check Engine Light, these are just some of the indicators to be aware of:

• ABS Warning Light: This light indicates a fault in the Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) or the brake assist system. Visit your dealership as soon as possible for an inspection.

• Charging System Warning Light: Do you see a red battery light? This light indicates a malfunction in the vehicle’s charging system, which could lead to an accident. Stop the vehicle as soon as it is safe to do so and contact your dealership for assistance. 

• Brake System Warning Light: If you see the red “BRAKE” light, stop driving immediately and pull over to a safe spot. The issue may be low brake fluid or a malfunction in the brake booster system; in either case, immediate service is required. Note: This light also indicates that the parking brake is engaged. If the light remains on after disengaging the brake, contact your dealership for assistance.

• Check Engine Light: The Check Engine Light may indicate a range of issues in gas-powered or hybrid vehicles. If this light comes on, schedule service immediately.

• Open Door Warning Light: A red icon depicting a car with open doors indicates that at least one door is open or not fully closed. Check that all doors and the trunk are closed.

• Seatbelt Reminder Light: This light is a reminder to the driver and/or passengers to fasten their seatbelts. 

• SRS Warning Light: This light indicates a fault in the SRS airbag system, front passenger occupant classification system, or seatbelt pretensioner system; schedule an inspection immediately.

• Tire Pressure Warning Light: If you see this warning light, at least one of your tires has low air pressure. Adjust the air as needed to remedy the issue. If the light remains after adjusting the pressure, it may signal a fault in the Tire Pressure Monitoring System; schedule an inspection promptly.
